About me
Dr. Maria Luisa Pineda is the CEO and co-founder of Envisagenics. Dr. Pineda embarked on her career in STEM as a high school Intel International Science Fair winner in Miami after immigrating from Colombia in 2001. She received her doctorate from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory School of Biological Sciences as an Arnold and Mabel Beckman graduate student and a William Randolph Hearst Foundation scholar. After graduating, she acquired investment experience in technology and life-sciences startup companies at Canrock Ventures and Golden Seeds.
Under her leadership, Envisagenics has received several SBIR grants from the National Institutes of Health and executed multiple research collaboration partnerships with biopharma companies. She is a founder member and the Secretary of the Alliance of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (AAIH), a non-profit advocacy and educational organization dedicated to promoting the development and implementation of AI in healthcare. She is also on the Board of Life Science Cares, a non-profit that leverages the power of the life science industry to solve poverty.
